Welcome to our Current Event Blog

As part of our 6th grade Social Studies curriculum, students are required to keep up with current events throughout the world. Specifically, students should be checking the news for information related to our current units of study. This blog was designed with the intention of providing a forum for students to share and discuss the current events that they come across on a daily basis. Feel free to share and respectfully comment about recent news events that have caught your interest. Remember, opportunities for extra credit are available dependent upon the quality and professionalism of your post. In order to earn an extra credit point, students must provide the following information when posting:

1. The title of the article
2. The name of the newspaper, magazine, internet site, etc. where you found the article
3. Identify the country and continent where the current event happened
4. Include a 2 or 3 sentence description of what the article was about.

Here is an example of an appropriate post.
