All Eyes on Europe

We are now moving on to Europe so all current events must be about Europe. Remember, opportunities for extra credit are available dependent upon the quality and professionalism of your post. In order to earn an extra credit point, you must provide the following information when posting:

1. The title of the article

2. The name of the newspaper, magazine, internet site, etc.
where you found the article
3. Identify the country and continent where the current event
happened
4. Include a 2 or 3 sentence description of what the article was about

Here is an example of an appropriate post.

On Wednesday, August 11, a man robbed a Susquehanna Bank in Ephrata, Lancaster County. The robbery took place around 10:30 am and the robber was able to escape. According to police, the robber was described as a white male, wearing sunglasses, a hat, a white t-shirt and shorts.

The wedding is full of English traditions and customs, but the wedding cake was inspired by the U.S. Prince William has decided he wants his cake to be made out of chocolate and cookies. The chef making the cake, Paul Courtney, says "It's going to be literally covered in chocolate decoration".

  4. Seven-Year-Old finds a Boa Constrictor in her toilet

    When a seven-year-old girl opened the lid of her toilet, she found a boa constrictor in in starting up at her. Right away she told her mother, who called the police. Before the reptile could be caught, it got away down the drain pipes, but don't worry! The boa constrictor is rarely dangerous!

  5. Ireland seeks deal to secure banks

    Ireland has been having a banking crisis recently, and they are hoping to secure a deal with the European Central Bank(ECB) that will keep it from spinning out of control. The Irish government wants the ECB to provide the country with 60 billion euros. That's the same as 80 billion U.S. dollars. But the ECB s demanding that Dublin first makes good its pledges to recapitalise its banks, and could threaten to cut off existing support.

    At the Barcelona Zoo, two female wolves have escaped, and are no where to be seen. The other wolves that were with them are still locked up, so no one knows how they got out. People are now working on finding them.

    When a 42 year old man parked his four-wheel-vehicle, more commonly known as the quad bike, he found that it was stolen. Thankfully, the owner was reunited with his bike. When he saw it, he borrowed a pal's car to chase it, and called the police.

    Today on March 30th 2011, archeologists discovered possible remains of a family of 12 neanderthals. By the markings on some of the bones the archeologists believed they were murderd by cannibal activity.The remains were found in a cave and believe there were 6 adults and 6 children.

    A British tourist plane flying to Sharm-el-Sheikh, Egypt made an emergency landing in Greece after a bomb threat Monday,an Athens airport official said. 213 people are off the plane and police will wait until after the real time the plane was supposed to land and then investigate.

  28. Above Nick J. Says that Turkey mourns for Ladin. I'm a Turkish citizen and I couldn't see any people here doing such kind of action. News owner should prove what he says about millions of people before the accusation takes place.
